Brighton makeup haul | August 2015

On a recent trip to Brighton - dedicated completely to shopping (and finding cute locations to take instagram pictures in), I picked up some makeup items that surprisingly weren't on my original make-up wish list.

The first item you can see is the YSL rouge volupté in the shade number 3. This is a beautiful browny nude colour which i feel really compliments my pale skin tone rather than washing me out.

The lipstick claims to be silky and I wouldn't disagree, it's sheer yet long lasting and doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the lips.

I'm also completely obsessed with gold packaging, it looks so elegant and the lipstick feels quite heavy in comparison to cheaper lipsticks so you know the packaging is of a good quality.

Down below is a swatch of the rouge volupté.

My second item is the MAC mineralise skin finish in the colour 'Soft and Gentle'. I hadn't planned on buying this, but after swatching it in mac and freaking out over the amazing pigmentation it had with my friend, I knew I had to buy it. I'm yet to try this on my face but i'm very excited about using this.

And finally..what would a trip to Mac be without leaving with a new lipstick? I literally find it physically impossible to leave a Mac store without a new lip product, which is great for me but adding it all up, it probably isn't the greatest for my bank account (whoops haha!)

The shade of this lipstick is 'Créme De La Femme'. This is a beautiful pink with a hint of shimmer, this lipstick is a 'Frost' finish which I absolutely love, I have included a swatch down below.

NEW Kate Moss collection for Rimmel!

As you can imagine, being a makeup lover I was thrilled to see Kate Moss was working with Rimmel for yet another lipstick collaboration.

Lipsticks are my favourite makeup item to buy and I have been very impressed with all of the other collections Kate has done with Rimmel, but this Nude Collection took my excitement to a whole new level.

With the release of this new collection being so popular, I was only able to get my hands on a limited amount of colours, these being shades 42 and 45.

These lipsticks are really creamy which means that the application of them is amazing - they just glide on! Despite being creamy, these do not have a glossy finish but are actually semi matte - which i personally love!

The formula of these lipsticks is also very moisturising, which is brilliant as you don't have to worry about the product drying onto the lips and looking unflattering. I would even go as far as saying that some of these nudes could be good dupes for MAC's velvet teddy & honey love.

As if the colours and formulation hadn't won me over enough, the sweet but subtle scent and gorgeous baby pink and cream packaging made me fall in love with these lipsticks even more.

I cannot wait to try some of the other shades, as well as the hydrating lip balm which was unfortunately out of stock in my local Boots and Superdrug!  The brown toned nail polishes also look incredible and I imagine being warm / brown toned they would be flattering for any skin tone.

These lipsticks can be found in Boots and Superdrug for £5.49! Happy shopping :)
